How it works

The AI chooses. The code double-checks.

A plan that suits your family – not an average user.

  1. Write your own rules

With the rule builder or in your own words: “fish twice a week”, “no more than 30 minutes on weekdays”, “no dish twice within 14 days”. You decide what is a must and what is just a wish.

  2. Create the plan

The AI picks suitable dishes from your own collection for the free meals. Appointments, leftovers and locked favourites stay where they are.

  3. Check and accept

Every rule is re-checked in code – marked as met, exception or violation in the rule check. The plan starts as a draft and can be undone with a single tap.

  4. Go shopping

Triplato scales servings, combines identical ingredients, rounds sensibly and leaves out what you have in stock. Every item shows which recipe it comes from.

For the whole household

One plans. Everyone eats.

Plan, recipes and shopping list are live on every iPhone in the household. You can see who ticked off what – and whoever is in the shop sees straight away what is still missing.

Manager plans

Creates plans, looks after recipes and rules, invites members and sets up the AI.

Member eats along

Sees the plan and recipes, cooks in cooking mode, shops with the list and leaves wishes for the next plan.

Thought through to the last detail

Made for the kitchen and the shop.

Large tap targets for one free hand, high contrast under bright shop lights, dark mode for evenings in the kitchen.

  • Rules that really apply

Mandatory rules are checked by code, not by the AI. Anything that doesn’t fit is clearly shown in the rule check.

  • Draft first, then plan

AI results never change your data directly. Everything can be undone.

  • Recipes from the web

Share a link and you’re done: ingredients, steps and photo land in your collection, with a link back to the source.

  • Cooking mode

One step per screen, large text, with the ingredients for that step right there.

  • Hand-drawn or flat

Ink and watercolour on paper – or plain and flat. Everyone picks their own style, light or dark.

  • Accessible from the start

Large text, VoiceOver and never meaning through colour alone – easy to read even with red-green colour blindness.

  • Your data, always with you

Export recipes, plans and lists, plus an automatic backup to your iCloud Drive.

  • Exclusions stay private

The app checks allergies and intolerances itself – they are never sent to the AI.

  • Five languages

English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese – automatically matching your iPhone.

Privacy

Your AI

A few centsper meal plan

Triplato talks directly to an AI provider of your choice. You pay them directly – no mark-up and no detour via Triplato.

Connect an AI accountSign in in the browser, for example with OpenRouter – no keys to type in.
Your own API keyFor pros: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral AI or your own model.

The app shows the estimated cost per plan and per month and warns you at a limit you set. A chat subscription usually does not cover other apps. Setting it up once per household is enough.

FAQ

Good to know.

Why do I have to bring my own AI?

So that Triplato works without a subscription and without a server of its own for your data. You decide which provider receives your requests and see the costs directly there. It’s best to set a spending limit with your provider right away.

Roughly what does the AI cost?

That depends on the provider and the model. A meal plan typically costs just a few cents. Triplato shows you the estimated usage per plan and per month; your provider’s bill is what counts.

Does Triplato come with recipes?

No – Triplato deliberately plans from your collection. You can bring in recipes from websites and from other recipe apps. If you are starting from scratch, every plan comes with recipe ideas from the AI that you can save as your own recipes.

How does Triplato handle allergies?

You set up exclusions such as allergies in the rule builder. The app checks them itself based on the ingredients and never passes them on to the AI. While allergy rules are active, it does not plan recipes with unclear ingredients.

Triplato is an everyday aid for meal planning and not medical or nutritional advice. Please always check ingredients and product labels yourself.

What happens after the trial if I don’t buy?

All member features remain free: viewing the plan and recipes, cooking mode, shopping list and wishes. Planning, editing recipes, rules and AI features require the purchase. Your data is kept and stays exportable in any case.

My household is not in one Apple family. Does it still work?

Yes. Everyone in the household can use the member features for free. Anyone who wants to plan themselves and is not part of the buyer’s Apple family needs their own purchase.

Is Triplato available for Android or iPad?

At launch, Triplato is available for iPhone only, from iOS 27. Sharing within the household requires iCloud.

Who can see my recipes and plans?

Only you and the people you invite to your household. The data lives on your devices and in your iCloud; the app’s provider has no access. Details are in the privacy policy.

Coming soon to the App Store.
